Two painting exhibitions will open next week at Zamalek Art Gallery’s venues -- Let’s Talk by Souad Mardam Bey in venue I and Rollercoaster by Yasmine El Hazek in venue II.
Mardam Bey is a Cairo-based Syrian artist. Her painting exhibit Playing Without Toys, depicts children affected by war as injured toys.
Last year, her solo The Magic Thread, at the same gallery, also depicted children but explored symbolically the theme of passing time and growing up.
El-Hazek was born in 1989, and graduated from the American University in Cairo.
She has also had a number of exhibitions in Zamalek Art Gallery, including her fist solo We The People (2013), the group exhibit The Masterpieces (2014) and Futuristic Nostalgia (2015), followed by her last solo Blossoming in Firenze (2015).
She was awarded the Academia D'arte Firenze artist of the month in 2015, during an intensive two-month programme in Florence’s art academy.
Programme:
Both exhibitions will open on 15 January and will run until 14 February.
