Well-known Egyptian artist Mohamed Abla will hold an artist talk in parallel to his current exhibition ‘Once’ at Arcade Gallery.
The exhibition includes a collection of rare drawings and paintings from the early nineties till his more recent works, with many works exhibited for the first time.
It also includes works from his ‘Women’ collection, as well as other exhibitions such as The Nile And Trees, Cairo City Lights, Fayoum, Cairo Towers, The Family, and his latest, On the Silk Road, completed in 2016.
‘Once’ offers a glimpse into the artist’s artistic evolution, and Abla will be available to discuss his work across different phases, his subjects and his different techniques and styles which include etching, lithography, painting, photography and paper cutouts.
Prior to the talk will be a live performance by Ali El-Farouk on the oriental oud.
Arcade gallery recently opened in Cairo, launching with Abla’s exhibition. It is founded by art enthusiast Amira Sobeh Elagroudi, and artist Layla Omar El Farouk, who is also the founder of Place Des Art art center.
