On 4 March, the Mashrabia Gallery of Contemporary Art will open a new exhibition of works by Xavier Puigmartí.
Titled Landscapes, the new collection features many of the artist's works which focus on the Lake Qarun in Fayoum, where he has been working in his own atelier for decades.
The Mashrabia Gallery's press release explains that "in this vast space men collect fossils, girls play with the stars, and the lake looks like a great cosmic mirror where everything can be seen distinctly. An academic style defines the background of the landscape, but its characters take us aback and invite us to think."
Established in Egypt, Puigmartí has already presented his art in The Mashrabia Gallery with the last collection, exhibited in February 2017, titled Memories Are Not For Sale.
Programme:
The exhibition opens on 4 March and continues until 5 April 2018.
