Japanese artists exhibit works in Cairo based on a brand new concept

The Japan Foundation in Cairo sponsor an exhibition on 'micropop,' a new concept that has flourished in the past 20 years

Winter Garden

A group exhibition by 14 young Japanese artists titled Winter Garden will open on Wednesday 22 February at the Gezira Art Centre.

The exhibition is curated by art critic Matsui Midori, who delves into the way that artists from the 90's and 21st century assembled scattered and disposable information to create new meanings. Midori terms this "micropop," a word she made up herself.

The exhibition is open and will be ongoing at the Gezira Art Centre until 10 March.
