Open Call for Participation in a Photography Exhibition

Al-Ahram online, Friday 26 Nov 2010

An open call for participants in a photography project is taking place at the Emad Eddin Foundation

Submission is open to professional and amateur photographers interested in water issues and the deadline is 20 December. Chosen participants will be notified during the first week of January 2011.

The photography exhibition is part of a comprehensive project revolving around Hassan x 2 and the Magic Well, a children’s play written by Ahmed El Attar and Sayed Ragab, and will be shown for two weeks at the Falaki Theatre at the American University in Cairo’s (AUC) Downtown campus starting 3 February 2011.

The exhibition is about the water resources of the world, the water crisis and how our daily behaviour affects the increasing global problem. The photographs should reflect the photographer’s personal view of the water as part of nature and/or water related problems, behaviours or stories.
The exhibition is not an educative one but  looks at water from all its different aspects: environmental, ecological, economical, political and even personal.

The exhibition will be open for two weeks at the AUC’s Gallery Space in the Falaki building starting 3 February 2011. The selected pictures will be shown in the online photo gallery of the project.
