Access Art Space will launch its second exhibition Sunday, 29 November, hosting a solo show by Egyptian artist Fathi Afifi.
Titled 'Phases', the exhibition will present the artist's newest paintings, inviting viewers to the new gallery that was founded within the premises of the former Townhouse Art Gallery.
Born in Cairo in 1950, Afifi is a graduate of the Faculty of Fine Arts.
"Afifi's paintings are characterised by roughness in touches and heterogeneous colours. He often prefers to work in black and white, with scratching on a black surface," reveals the notes to one of Afifi's previous exhibitions.
Opening its doors in September this year, Access Art Space is a relatively new player in the Cairo arts scene. Located in the former Townhouse Gallery premises, the new space is managed by the Townhouse team.
Opening: Sunday, 29 November, 7pm
Access Art Space, 10 El-Nabarawy St, Mahmoud Bassiouny Street, Downtown Cairo
