Manifesta 8 flashback will take place from 21 January until 3 February at the Alexandria Contemporary Arts Forum (ACAF).
A flashback of this year's Manifesta, a European biennale for modern art held every two years in a different city, will be held at the ACAF, which was involved as one of its curators.. The exhibition will feature five video-works that were part of Manifesta 8.
Manifesta 8 took place in the cities of Murcia and Cartagena in southeast Spain with a sub-theme “A dialogue with northern Africa”. The biennale focused on themes such as immigration, refugee status, as well as the new borders of Europe, both geographically and psychologically.
On 28 January a talk by Bassam El Baroni, the artistic director of ACAF, will take place from 5 to 7.30 pm. Baroni will present ACAF’s project for Manifesta 8.
