The exhibition, titled Franz Kafka: A Man of His Time and Our Own, marks the novelist's death centenary, celebrated by the Czech embassy in Cairo working in cooperation with the Czech Centres.
The exhibition that will launch on the exterior walls of the embassy located in Dokki (Giza) on Wednesday 6 March will continue until 3 May.
"Franz Kafka is a name that resonates in literature and our collective memory as well. The new exhibition uses parts of the book written by Radek Malý and illustrated by Renáta Fučíková," revealed Tereza Svaskova, the exhibition coordinator, in the embassy's press release.
The embassy frequently takes advantage of its place in one of Cairo’s busiest districts, near Cairo University and the botanical gardens, to put on public exhibitions about Czechia’s most renowned figures.
Franz Kafka (3 July 1883 - 3 June 1924) was a German-language writer, born in Prague, in then Bohemia.
Kafka is widely regarded as one of the major figures of 20th-century literature. His works fuse realism with fantasy, and surrealism with existentialistic elements, with many becoming a strong - even if at times absurd and/or caricatured - commentary on the social and political dynamics surrounding Kafka or dominating many communities.
His large body of works includes the famed novella The Metamorphosis and the novels The Trial and The Castle.
Many of his literary works have been translated into dozens of languages, including Arabic.
