Work by Egyptian photographer Ziad Bakir, a martyr of last year's revolution, will be shown for one week, beginning on Saturday, 15 September, at the Faculty of Fine Arts in Zamalek.

Bakir, a graphic designer who had worked at the Cairo Opera House's design office, was killed by security forces during a bloody crackdown on anti-regime protesters in January of last year.

Bakir had worked for the Cairo Opera House, where he had supervised a team of graphic designers. His works were considered extremely artistic, inspiring many of the creative minds at the opera house as well as his audiences.

Photography was also among Bakir's artistic hobbies.

Bakir died at the height of last year's Tahrir Square uprising. Following his disappearance on 28 January 2011, his family spent over 40 days trying to find him. His funeral was eventually held on 13 March 2011.

Bakir's photographic work will be on display at the Faculty of Fine Arts in Zamalek for a one-week period. The exhibition will formally open on 15 September at 7pm.
