The Louvre pyramid courtyard is seen almost completely empty following the announcement that the museum will remain closed for a second day after thieves stole priceless jewels from the museum in Paris a day earlier, in Paris. AFP
"The Louvre management denies it," museum representatives said when asked by AFP, without further comment.
The Israeli CGI Group, based in Tel Aviv, told AFP earlier that the Louvre had asked for its help for the investigation due to its past success in recovering stolen artefacts from a German museum in 2019.
"The Louvre exceptionally asked us to uncover the identity of people involved in the theft and to retrieve the stolen artefacts," CGI Group CEO Zvika Naveh told AFP.
Naveh said his company's past success in locating artefacts stolen from a German museum in 2019 had contributed to the Louvre's choice of his company for the task.
