On Tuesday 12 November, a seminar at ArtTalks art space in Zamalek will explore the history of modern Egyptian art, with a particular focus on the first half of the 20th century.
The seminar will examine the development of Egypt's modern art movement, highlighting milestones such as the establishment of the Fine Arts School and the founding of the Art and Freedom Group in the 1940s.
Works by significant artists will be used as reference points, guiding participants on an expedition that unveils the influences, social and cultural context of a movement of artists that worked to establish a national artistic identity.
The seminar will be led by ArtTalks founder Fatenn Mostafa.
