Cairo's art house cinema Zawya will take its project to Alexandria where, in cooperation with Alexandrian film collectives Rufy's and Fig Leaf Studios, it will show Iranian Oscar winner Asghar Farhadi's The Past at Green Plaza Cinema in Semouha on Sunday, 22 June.

Zawya, an initiative from Misr International Films, has helped fill Cairo's culture calendar since opening in March, providing screenings of internationally acclaimed and award winning films not normally shown in Egyptian cinemas.

Meanwhile, Zawya is set to host five films within the ARTE Film Week at Odeon Cinema in Cairo from 17 to 21 June.

The programme includes films Susanne, The Missing Picture, In Bloom, Heli and Tabu.
