Cairo’s art house cinema Zawya is scheduled to screen Ice Cream in Gleam (Khairy Beshara, 1992) on Sunday 6 September.

The film will be screened in honour of late Egyptian actor Ali Hassanein. It comes as part of the Sunday Screenings Zawya holds in celebration of Egyptian artists who passed away in 2015.

Hassanein died at the age of 76 on 12 August. His repertoire comprises of tens of films and television series alongside Egypt’s biggest stars.

Besides his role in Ice Cream in Gleam, Hassanein was also known for his secondary roles in films like The Kit Kat (Daoud Abdel-Sayed, 1991) and Searching for Sayed Marzouk (Daoud Abdel-Sayed, 1990).

English subtitles will be available.
