In the month leading up to this year's Panorama of the European Film, which is organised by Misr International Films, the company's arthouse cinema, Zawya, will be screening a different feature film each week.
The Palestinian film Eyes of a Thief, starring Egyptian actor Khaled Abo El-Naga and Tunisian singer Soad Massi, will be screened from 28 October to 3 November.
Directed by Najwa Najjar, the film is ispired by a true story of a father who is on a quest to find the daughter he left behind, while harbouring a dangerous secret.
The second film, Um Ghayeb, produced in Egypt and the United Arab Emirates, will by screened from 4 to 10 November.
Directed and written by Nadine Salib, Um Ghayeb is a documentary which tells a poignant story of an infertile woman yearning to give birth, living on the fringes of her community and reflecting on her mortality.

From 11 to 17 November, Zawya will screen The Gate of Departure, a film by Egyptian director Kareem Hanafy.
The experimental film debuted at the 2014 Cairo International Film Festival.
From 18 to 24 November, Zawya will screen the Moroccan film Atlantic.
Atlantic follows the challenging epic journey of a Moroccan fisherman who sets off to Europe on his windsurfing board. The film is directed by Dutch filmmaker Jan-Willem can Ewijk.
The eighth annual Panorama of the European Film is scheduled to take place from 25 November to 5 December.
