'Make Food Not War': Motto of the 10th Culinary Cinema at 2016 Berlinale

The 10th Culinary Cinema will be held during the Berlin International Film Festival, 14-19 February

“Make Food Not War” is the motto of the 10th Culinary Cinema, the 2016 Berlinale section to be held between 14 and 19 February.

The programme of the 10th Culinary Cinema will present 11 topical feature-length films on the relationship between food, culture and politics, the festival revealed in its official press release.

The selection will include films from the USA, Canada, Singapore, Israel/Germany, Spain, the Netherlands and the United Kingdom.

The 10th Culinary Cinema will open with the international premiere of Pep Gatell’s documentary Campo a través. Mugaritz, intuyendo un camino (Off-Road. Mugaritz, Feeling a Way).

The programme will also screen Portret van een tuin (Portrait of a Garden), Need for Meat, Wanton Mee, Cooked - Air, Noma - My Perfect Storm, among other titles.

The selection will conclude with the historical short film How to Build an Igloo (National Film Board of Canada, 1949) and Vormittags-Spuk (Ghosts before Breakfast, Hans Richter, 1928).

The Berlin International Film Festival's 66th edition will run between 11 and 21 February 2016.
