Shadi Habib Allah's film 'Dag'aa' (Palestine) is among a number of shorts set to be screened within the official selection of the upcoming International Film Festival Rotterdam, scheduled to run between 27 January and 7 February.

The film takes us on an "unlikely journey of discovery – at gunpoint across the Sinai Peninsula, led by Bedouins who will force us across an unmapped terrain whose only signposts are the small stories they tell about the stakes of living, dying, and moving through this mysterious space," the producer Aanat Film reveals on the official website.

The producers describe the 18-minute long Dag'aa as an experimental film, which is screened in Arabic with English subtitles.

This is the only entry from Palestine to vie for the main award at this year's International Film Festival Rotterdam.

The shorts selection will also include another entry from the Arab World: Faux départ (Morocco) by Yto Barrada.

In its 45th edition, the festival will also see Tunisian Egypt-based actress Hend Sabry join the jury panel.
