On Tuesday the Arab Digital Expression Foundation will be screening A Moment of Innocence, an acclaimed 1996 film by Iranian director Mohsen Makhamalbaf, who also acts in the film.

The film stars Mirhadi Tayebi, Ali Bakhsi, Ammar Tafti and Maryam Mohamadamini and will be screened as part of the foundation's DECA’s April programme, "A Close Look At Iranian Cinema."

The programme is managed and put together by Egyptian writer Mohamed El-Masry who will introduce the film on Tuesday, and also lead a discussion about it following the screening.

According to the event description on Facebook, the film dissolves borders between documentary and fiction. As a teenager, Makhamalbaf had once stabbed a policeman at a protest rally, and in this film he acts out the attack and also tries to find the policeman and ask for his forgiveness.
