Film to reveal life inside presidential palace before Mubarak's resignation

In the upcoming days, a film that includes dramatic re-making of the events within the presidential palace walls before the ousting of Mubarak, will be aired on satellite channels

According to the actress Nagwa El Negeiry, The Halls of the the Palace will be aired on several sattelite channels.

El Negeiry will play the role of Suzanne Mubarak, the wife of the ousted president Hosni Mubarak, in the film.

The film reveals the events behind the scenes within the walls of the presidential palace during the 18 days starting 25 January until the day of Hosni Mubarak’s resignation on 11 February.

The film's 100 minutes is made up of footage of the revolution as well as dramatic recreations of life within the palace walls for Mubarak and his cronies.

The documentary also uses several eyewitnesses to events including Akef Mahdy from the Muslim Brotherhood; Hossam Badrawy, the last secretary-general of the now defunct National Democratic Party; Ahmed El Akabawy, who is the head of the psychiatry department at Al-Azhar University; Ashraf Tarraf, a retired police officer; and the poet Abdel Rahman Youssef, who represents the revolutionaries.

The film is directed by Ahmed Fathy and is considered the first film that features the ousted president and his wife by using look-alikes.
