PROGRAMME: The Visegrad Group holds a film festival in Cairo

The four-day festival will present films from Czech Republic, Slovakia, Poland and Hungary

The Visegrad Group reprsented by their diplomatic institutions in Egypt will hold four days of film screenings from 16 to 19 May.

The Visegrad Group, also known as the Visegrad Four is an alliance of four Central European states: Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland and Slovakia.

All screenings begin at 6.30pm, yet in a variety of locations, marked below.

Monday 16 May

Gympl (The Can)
A school comedy by T. Vorel (2007, Czech Repulic, 110 min)
Venue: Embassy of the Czech Republic, 4 Dokki Street, Cairo

Tuesday 17 May

Love in Your Soul
A fairytale by M. Strnava (2014, Slovakia, 95 min)
Venue: Balassi Institute, 13 Gawad Hosni Street, 2nd floor, Abdeen, Cairo

Wednesday 18 May

Gods
A true story, drama by L. Palkowski (2014, Poland, 121 min)
Venue: Embassy of the Czech Republic, 4 Dokki Street, Cairo

Thursday 19 May

Aglaya
Drama by K. Deák (2012, Hungary, 110 min)
Venue: Balassi Institute, 13 Gawad Hosni Street, 2nd floor, Abdeen, Cairo
