Algeria's Oran Arab Film Festival promises a major line-up

The festival will run between 20 and 27 July showcasing films from 17 Arab countries

The ninth annual Oran Arab Film Film Festival in Algeria will run between 20 and 27 July, screening a variety of films, feature, shorts and documentaries from filmmakers representing 17 Arab countries.

The organisers said that 34 films will compete for the main award.

Several renowned cinema figures from Syria, Lebanon and Egypt will be present at the festival.

Among the activities, the festival will include a section called Panorama of Algerian Shorts, which will comprise ten short film by young filmmakers.

Commemorating the 400th anniversary of William Shakespeare's death, the festival will screen three film adaptations of the Bard's plays.
