Zawya’s Special Sunday screenings are back for another season, screening the Palestinian film Love, Theft and Other Entanglements.

Directed by Muayad Alayan, the 2015 film tells the story of Mousa, who lives on a Palestinian refugee camp, and gets in trouble after stealing the wrong car and finding a kidnapped Israeli soldier in the trunk.

The consequences put his hopes of fleeing the country and escaping his messy love affair in jeopardy, as he gets tangled in a run for his life.

Launched in March 2014, Zawya is Cairo's first initiative bringing art-house and alternative films to one screen at downtown Cairo's Odeon Cinema. Over the past months, besides regular film screenings, Zawya has hosted talks, special events, retrospectives, film discussions and master classes.

Zawya re-opened for another season after a break since mid-July, kicking off the season with a screening of Captain Fantastic today.
