A number of artists have expressed sadness at the death of the actor Omar El-Hariri, who died on Sunday 16 October at the age of 89 following a long battle with bone cancer.
“It is a great loss for he had many unforgettable roles. He was a dedicated and professional actor and his career is a witness to his creative power,” said the head of the Actors’ Syndicate Ashraf Abdel Ghaffour.
The actor Mahmoud Yassin said he was one of the greatest people one could meet in life as he was a unique character and a true artist, while Hassan Youssef expressed his sadness over his long-time friend’s death, remembering what a great and loyal friend he was.
The actor Samir Sabry said Arabs will never forget his contribution to the cinema and theatre.
