Art Alert: The World is Big and Salvation Lurks around the Corner to screen in Cairo

The award-winning movie features the journey of emigrants

Directed by Stephan Komandarey, the World is Big and Salvation Lurks around the Corner will be screening at Magnolia Leaves of Art in Cairo on 17 April.

The movie, released worldwide in 2008, revolves around Alex who goes on a journey to find his true self with the assistance of his grandfather Bai Dan.

The Bulgarian drama film depicts an era in the 1980’s where Bin Dan is accused by authorities of conducting illegal activities and decided to flee the country and move to Western Europe.

The film has won Jury Award in Bergen International Film Festival in 2008, the second place in the Audience Award at the Palm Springs International Film Festival, and Best Bulgarian Feature Film at the Sofia International Film Festival, among others.
