Egyptian star Shereen Reda won the Best Actress award for her role in Photocopy at the 44th Egyptian Cinema Film Association Festival, which took place between 27 January and 3 February.

The film also won the Best First Film award for director Tamer Ashry and a Special Certificate of Appreciation for Ahmed Dash.

The film focuses on a retired man in Cairo who begins to learn about the extinction of dinosaurs. This sets off a series of events that give his life renewed meaning.

The film features stars such as Mahmood Hemaidah, Sherine Reda and Farah Youssef.

Reda was selected to introduce the new face of Etisalat Egypt, and shot an ad for the Emerald service provided by the company to its distinguished customers.

"Last Ramadan, Shereen Reda took part in the TV series La Tottfea Al Shams. Reda's role in the TV series, Hagar Gohanam, received a wide audience acclaim. During 2016, Reda received the Best Actress Award at the Egyptian National Film Festival for her role in Out of Order by director Mahmoud Kamel. She also received an award from the 42nd Egyptian Cinema Film Association Festival for the same role," writes the marketing and film distribution company MAD Solution in its official press release.

"Most recently, Reda finished shooting her scenes in director Marwan Hamed's new film Diamond Dust, written by Ahmed Mourad, in addition to shooting her scenes in Al Deif (The Guest) directed by Hadi El Bagoury and written by Ibrahim Eissa. Alongside Reda, Al Deif stars Ahmed Malek and Khaled Elsawy. Shreen Reda joined the cast of Al Fares by director Mohamed Samy and stars Mona Zaki and Ahmed El Sakka. Reda started shooting her scenes in the TV series Bani Youssef, alongside super star Yousra."

Photocopy screened twice at the first Gouna Film Festival, winning a Gouna Star for Best Arab Feature Narrative at the award ceremony held on 29 September 2017.
