Luxor's First African Film Festival to inaugurate in February

Nine African countries to participate in Luxor's first African Film Festival in February


Under the auspicies of the Egyptian ministeries of Culture, Tourism, and Foreign Affairs, the Independent Shabab Foundation will hold Luxor's First African Film Festival from 21 to 28 February 2012.

Nine African countries will participate in the festival according to Sayed Foad, president of the festival and founder of the foundation.

Foad also confirms that in its first year, the festival will include a long-featured films competition and another for short films. Furthermore, the festival's programme also includes a number of workshops and seminars for young African filmmakers, one of which will be moderated by Egyptian director Samir Seif.
