Film My Design, a new event taking place this December, aims to bring together five Egyptian designers with five Egyptian filmmakers "to produce an inspiring, engaging, educational and thought-provoking Design-Film documentary."
The event, which will be held annually, will take place at Zawya in Karim Cinema in downtown Cairo.
"Promising to be an immersive experience of inspiring media content and sparkling conversations, the FMD 2018 event will be bringing together creative professionals from Egypt’s diverse design and film scenes," reads the event press release.
"The event will screen a series of international and locally produced design film documentaries, as well as host talks and panel discussions that revolve around design and film.
"The selected designers and filmmakers belong to respective groups of emerging and established practitioners with diverse backgrounds, experiences, and styles of inspiration."
"FMD is a Cairo-based annual event that aims to establish a creative community of Egyptian designers and filmmakers, who collaborate to produce Design-Film documentaries."
"FMD’s main objective is to cross-pollinate design with the art of filmography, creating a uniquely innovative way of expanding society’s exposure to the local design community," the press release concluded.
