Art Alert: Short films at Netherlands-Flemish Institute's Palestine Week

Palestine Week is organised by the Netherlands-Flemish Institute (NVIC) in collaboration with Visualizing Palestine and BDS Egypt

'Five boys and a wheel' short film is about a teacher trying to settle a dispute between his son and a group of boys and their parents

The Netherlands-Flemish Institute in Cairo (NVIC) is screening Palestinian short films on Sunday as part of its Palestine Week.

"The screenings are open to everyone, but please note that our seats are limited, so first come, first seated," the centre stated.

The films to be screened are Drowning Man (15 mins) directed by Mahdi Fleifel, The Parrot by Darin J. Sallam and Amjad Al-Rasheed, Bonboné (15 mins) by Rakan Mayasi and Five Boys and a Wheel by Said Zagha (20 mins).

All films will be subtitled in English.

Palestine Week is organised by the NVIC in collaboration with Visualizing Palestine and BDS Egypt.

The institute in Zamalek describes itself as "an academic centre that provides services for scholars and students from its supporting universities with activities are mainly related to the fields of Arabic and Islamic studies, Egyptology, Archaeology and Papyrology."
