Art Alert: Roaya Youth Forum winning films to screen in Alexandria

Five short films that won awards at the third edition of the Roaya Youth Forum will be screened at Alexandria Center of Arts on Saturday 15 June followed by a symposium with some of the filmmakers.

The screening will include director Yasser Shefiey's Al-Tadreibat Al-Qoswa Le-Tahsein El-Adaa, Nada Amr's Ad El-Sama, El-Tagroba Asef by Alaa Khaled, Hossam Shaker's Haitho Tai'sh Al-Ashiaa Al-Gameha  and the Best Film winner White Hell, directed by Ahmed Assem, Omar Shash and Mahmoud Khaled.

The three-day Forum, organized by Egyptian Film Centre, was concluded on 28 May at Al-Hanager Cinema in the Cairo Opera House.

Twenty-three films, short narrative and documentaries competed in the various competitions of the forum whose first edition was held in August 2014 in Menya, Fayoum and Sohag with the second held in October 2018 at Al-Hanager Cinema.

The screening of the film in Alexandria is being held under the Cinema Center's monthly free-entry event entitled Independent Cinema Club.
