Directed by Abdel-Rahman Nasr, the documentary marks the life journey of iconic critic Youssef Cherif Rizkallah, longtime CIFF artistic director, who passed away 12 July.
Amid a tribute night for the critic, after whom the 41st edition of CIFF is dedicated, the screening of the film 'Rizk El-Cinema,' produced by the festival, saw tens of known actors, critics, filmmakers and artists, including the Egyptian Minister of Culture Ines Abdel-Dayem, attend in tribute.
"Thank God, I was honoured with the attendance of Dr Ines Abdel-Dayem and a large number of stars and filmmakers for the 'Rizk El-Cinema' screening. The lines were such a joy and the theatre was complete," stated Nasr after the screening.
The film will be screened Sunday at 9pm in the Creativity Centre at the Cairo Opera House.
The legendary veteran critic, who had served the festival since 1987 and became its artistic director in 2000, is being honoured through many activities at the festival, held from 20 to 29 November.
He was also honoured at the opening ceremony on Wednesday with actor Khaled El-Sawy.
Despite his death, Rizkallah is officially artistic director of the 41st edition along with Egyptian critic Ahmed Shawky, who is the acting artistic director working under the title deputy artistic director as a sign of gratitude.
