Last call for submissions to the Short Film Competition

Submissions are still open; the award ceremony will take place on Sunday 11 March

Submissions are still open for the Short Films Competition. The theme is “Move. Talk. Play. Work. The use of public space in revolutionary times.”

The submission deadline is 7 March, and the award ceremony will be held at 6:30pm on Sunday 11 March in the garden of the Artists’ Syndicate in Zamalek.

The jury includes numerous local and international artists: Egyptian film maker Ahmed Abdallah; Egyptian actor and producer Khaled Abol Naga; Cairo-based German artist Daniel Rode; Egyptian architect and author Tarek Naga and Austrian film maker Sabine Derflinger.

They will talk about their experiences and will reveal the winners of the competition during the round table to be held in the garden of the Artists' Syndicate.

According to the press release, anyone under the age of 40 with residence in Egypt can participate and submit a short film for one of the following categories: abstract, documentary and portraits. "Pre-registration with the English title, name and email to [email protected] is required. After pre-registering, the video (DVD), which should not exceed 3 minutes, and should be in the format of DV-PAL 16:9, can be sent to the address below. There are no restraints on shooting techniques and device. Please note that DVDs without proper registration will not be accepted."
