The Egyptian Film Critics Association will host a screening of the film 'Rizk El-Cinema' at their headquarters in Cairo on Sunday 2 February.
Directed by Abdel-Rahman Nasr, the documentary marking the life journey of iconic critic Youssef Cherif Rizkallah,premiered at the 41st Cairo International Film Festival (CIFF) in November.
The film will be introduced by critic Ahmed Shawky and the screening will be followed by a discussion that is open to the public.
Rizkallah, who was the longtime CIFF artistic director and who passed away 12 July, was an iconic critic who helped make Hollywood movie reviews popular in the Middle East by presenting and producing a number of important TV shows since the 1960s, including Oscar and Tele-Cinema.
The well-known journalist, who wrote thousands of movie reviews for Egyptian and Arab newspapers, magazines, radio stations, and TV shows, participated in many film festivals around the world.
