A documentary film produced by BBC Arabic on the role of new media and social networking in the Arab uprisings will be screened on 19 March on its satellite channel.
The documentary, The Electronic Spring, sheds light on the role of social media in the revolutions in Tunisia, Egypt, Libya and Syria.
Amid the media blackout in Bahrain and the intense restrictions in Syrian media, citizen journalism plays a crucial role in getting the voice of the revolutions heard.
The film also shows the smuggling of images from Libya across the border to Tunisia, to publish photos of the revolution, internationally.
The film will be shown at 19:07 GMT on BBC Arabic.
