The Cultural Development Fund (CDF) has launched an initiative to release award-winning short animated films created by young Egyptian artists.
The films will be posted on YouTube every Tuesday at 6pm.
The released films are winners of the 10th Cairo International Forum for Animation, a project motored by CDF in 2017. The forum is held annually and its last edition took place in 2019.
The first film to be released by the CDF is A Long Way, directed by Adel El-Badrawy, with a duration of 4mins 45 sec. The film premieres on YouTube on 23 June at 6pm.
One of the arms of the Culture Ministry, the CDF overlooks artistic activities and projects in numerous venues.
The CDF's YouTube channel is part of the fund's move to join the Culture Between Your Hands, an initiative launched by the ministry to bring theatre performances, concerts and other cultural events to audiences amid the current shutdown of theatres, cinemas and concert halls owing to the coronavirus pandemic.
