The Aswan International Women Film Festival (AIWFF) has called for submissions for its upcoming sixth edition, scheduled to take place in February in the great historic city of Aswan.
"Film submissions for the sixth Edition of Aswan International Women Film Festival are now open - submit your film on www.aiwff.org," stated the AIWFF board.
Submission is open from 22 August until 31 November for illegible films, which had not been screened in Egypt before and made by women or support women causes even if they made by men.
The AIWFF organizes two main competitions; for long feature films and short feature films (less than 60 minutes), in addition to a number of parallel activities.
Under President Mohamed Abdel-Khalek and Director Hassan Abou El-Ela, the fifth edition of the AIWFF, held exceptionally in June after delays caused by the COVID-19 global pandemic, saw a variety of workshops and honoring ceremonies for many women filmmakers, as well as the main competitions that combined 12 long and 14 short films.
Sponsored by a number of local and international authorities, including the European Union, the AIWFF is dedicated to highlighting women related issues and their rights to prove their fullest potentials, where cinematographers representing different countries renew their dialogue about the important role of women in society.
