Born in 1943, Abdel-Halim was known for numerous supporting roles in Egyptian films and television series.

He stepped into the limelight in the 1970s, when he was offered roles in a series of films directed by Abdelrahman Al-Khamisi, including the film ‘Flower of Violet’ (‘Zahrat Al-Banafseg’) in 1977.

This was followed by roles in the television series ‘Tears in Bold Eyes’ in 1980 that was directed by Yahya El-Alamy and starred Adel Emam.

Abdel-Halim appeared in numerous works over the past decades, where he shared the screen with numerous renowned actors and worked with multiple well-known directors.

One of his significant roles was in a highly popular TV series ‘Sheikh of the Arabs’ in 2010: A documentary drama focusing on tribal conflicts in Upper Egypt and a man named Hammam Ibn Youssef who managed to unite the tribes under his command. The series featured Yehia El-Fakharany in the protagonist’s role.

The funeral of the actor was held in earlier today and the date of the wake is yet to be revealed.
