Submission is open until the end of November on the festival’s website.
Eligible films must have their topics revolve around women’s issues or be written or directed by women to be selected for the festival that holds two main competitions; long (more than 60 minutes) and short (less than 60 minutes) for all feature, documentary, and animation films.
In the sixth edition held in February, over 34 films were screened. The festival honoured Egyptian actress Sawsan Badr, director Inaam Mohamed Aly, French actress and director Marilyne Canto, and Somali political strategist Hibaaq Osman.
The festival is also organising workshops and seminars revolving around the cinema and the role of women in its development.
