15 Arab film projects shortlisted in 9th Cairo Film Connection at CIFF

15 film projects from 10 Arab countries have been shortlisted to compete in the 9th edition of the Cairo Film Connection (CFC), which will be held during the 44th Cairo International Film Festival (CIFF) that takes place 13-22 November.

“We want to consolidate the relationship between Arab industry and the international cinema by offering a selection of promising projects from ten countries of the Arab world that highlight different stories that reflect the reality of the situation faced in these countries,” stated CFC manager Lynda Belkhiria.

The selected projects, which include documentary and feature narrative films in the development and post-production phase, include five from Egypt, two from Tunisia and, one from each of Jordan, Yemen, Lebanon, Algeria, Morocco, Sudan, Palestine, and Saudi Arabia.

Held as part of Cairo Industry Days at the CIFF, the CFC provides a space for discussions, networking, meetings, workshops, master classes, and partnership and co-production opportunities betweenArab talents and regional and international industry professionals.

CIFF, one of the oldest-standing film festivals in the Arab world and Africa, is the only festival in the region accredited as an (A) festival by FIAPF – the International Federation of Film Producers.
