In an Instagram post, Abu Deif cites Vogue Arabia’s editor-in-chief Manuel Arnaut’s presentation of the special section on Egypt in January’s Issue of the magazine. Arnaut writes, "We are dedicating a full inside section to the rise of Egypt, as the country is currently undergoing an economical and cultural transformation with endless opportunities and potential."
Abu Deif explains in the post that the special section dedicated to Egypt includes a celebration of the work of Adam Henein who is "one of the country’s most prominent sculptors who spent almost a decade restoring the Great Sphinx of Giza”. The section on Egypt also includes an overview of the soon-to-open Grand Egyptian Museum and a tribute to the iconic Dalida “who would have turned 90 years old this month."
The zine also features a love letter to Africa and the Land of Pharaohs by Olivier Rousteing, accompanied by a spread featuring Abu Deif, photographed by fellow Egyptian talent, Bassam Allam.
