The film is scheduled to hit Egyptian cinemas during Eid Al-Fitr, a feast beginning in the second half of April, following the month of Ramadan.

Produced by Remon Ramsis and Ahmed Khaled Moussa (also the film’s director), Ramsis-Paris is based on a screenplay by Karim Hassan Bashir.

It stars the Lebanese-Egyptian singer and actress Haifa Wehbe, Hamdi El-Mirghani, Moustafa Khater, Mohamed Salam and Mohamed Tharwat, among others.

The comedy’s plot follows a group of Egyptians on their trip from Cairo’s Ramsis neighbourhood to Paris and the many funny situations they encounter. The story reaches its climax when they decide to form a gang that lands them in a series of troubles.

The film was in large part shot in Paris, with the promo showing the actors strolling across the city’s streets and many important landmarks.

The upcoming Eid Al-Fitr will begin on the evening of 21 April, marking numerous new films screening across the Egyptian and region’s cinemas.

Born in 1972 (with some sources stating 1976) to a Lebanese father and Egyptian mother, Haifa Wehbe is a singer, actress and TV anchor. She won the Miss South Lebanon contest at 16 and was a runner-up at the Miss Lebanon competition. In addition, she worked as a highly successful model for many years, during which she made numerous appearances in TV commercials and music videos. 

She launched her music career in 2002 by releasing her first album Howa El Zaman (It Is The Time). This was followed by albums such as Baddi Aech (2005), Farashet El Wadi (2006), Habibi Ana (2008), Baby Haifa (2010), Malikat Jamal Al Kawn (2012) and Hawwa (2018), among numerous singles.

Her acting career kicked off with Habibi Aana (My Love), a 2008 film filled with songs by Wehbe, including the title song. Ever since Wehbe has appeared in many movies and television series.

Throughout her career, the singer-actress stirred several controversies. 

In 2009, she was accused of racism when her song Baba Fein contained the lyrics “Nubian monkeys.” The reference to Nubian culture has been removed from the song.

The same year, she added fuel to the Egypt–Algeria World Cup dispute when she stated she would not be performing in Algeria since Algerians “would not understand her music." This resulted in the Algerian government banning Wehbe from performing in Algeria for insulting the country and its people. 

In 2014, Wehbe was criticised for being improperly dressed during a live episode of Arab Star Academy. She apologised for the incident, blaming the stage lighting.

Most recently, she was criticised for comments in 2018 and 2019 when she expressed her support for the LGBT community, with posts on Twitter (later removed) and a launch of a fashion brand, Beau Voyou, that carried rainbow colours.
