The Kuwaiti production The Exchange is among the top-ten trending TV shows streamed in Egypt on Netflix this weekend, as well as many other Arab countries.

The Exchange

Lying in the sixth place, The Exchange is the only Arabic show in the list with a tough competition from foreign hits like You, True Beauty, Ginny & Georgia, Wednesday and Physical 100.

Directed by Jasem Al-Muhanna and Karim El-Shenawy, The Exchange was released on Netflix on 8 February.

Subtitles are available in 31 languages and dubbing in five languages.

The anticipated series stars Mona Hussain and Rawan Mahdi, featuring a number of Kuwaiti talents like Mohammed Al-Mansour, Faisal Alamiri, Hussain Almahdi, Zahra Alkharji and others.

The Exchange was created and written by Nadia Ahmad, Anne Sobel and Adam Sobel and produced by Abdullah Boushahri.

Bringing the 1980s back to life, the show follows the story of two women, Farida and Munira, who set out to pioneer the cutthroat stock market of 1980s Kuwait - and disrupt its corrupt boys’ club along the way.

A premiere gala was held in Kuwait City’s Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmad Cultural Centre last week, with dozens of Kuwaiti and Gulf stars, journalists, influencers and media personas attending and participating in the discussions that followed the screening of first two episodes.

Netflix is a world's leading entertainment streaming platforms that attracts over 230 million paid memberships from over 190 countries.
