Eid vacation films, mostly comedy

After the packed season of television series during the month of Ramadan, Eid will see a number of film releases

A number of films with a budget exceeding LE45 million will be released in cinemas during the Eid vacation.

One of the highlights is Teta Raheeba (Grandmother is Horrible) starring Mohamed Heneidy and revolves around a controlling grandmother living with her grandson.

Other films include Al-Bar (The Bar), which is set mostly in nightclubs and bars in Egypt, the comedy film Baba (Father) starring Ahmed El-Sakka, Ramadan Mabrouk Abou El Alamein and Mr. and Mrs. Uweiss.

Also due to be released is the film Saa We Nos (One Hour and a Half) by Ahmed Abdallah. The film tells the story of the disaster that took place in 2002 when a train caught fire on its way to Upper Egypt, leading to hundreds of deaths.
