Directed by Peter Mimi, the Synergy Films comedy Beit El-Ruby premieres this weekend (22 June) in Egyptian theatres and will soon be released in Arab cinemas.
Written by Mohamed El Dabbah, the film follows the El-Ruby family's return to the city before protagonist Ibrahim unintentionally becomes a social media influencer.
The film also stars Tara Emad, Nour, Mohamed Abdel Rahman, Mostafa Abu Serie, Sherif Desouky, Sara Abdulrahman, and Mahmoud Alsisi.
The film's theme song Samaa Hoss, which plays a key role in the plot, is gaining wide attention since its release on Sunday.
Samaa Hoss is performed by Mahmoud El-Esseily along with the two stars whose films usually top the box office.
Beit El-Ruby, launching a week early, will compete with other promising comedies expected to dominate the summer, including Tag starring Tamer Hosni as a superhero, Mr Ex starring Ahmad Fahmy and Hana Al Zahid with many comedians, and EL-Bo'Bo' from Amir Karara and Yasmine Sabri, scheduled to be released on 28 June.
The season will also include Hollywood hits like Indiana Jones & The Dial of Destiny and Mission: Impossible Dead Reckoning among other promising films.
Abou Nasab by Mohamed Adel Emam and Al-Zero by Mohamed Ramadan won't be released during the Eid El-Adha feast season.
Egypt will celebrate the four-day Islamic feast of Eid El-Adha from Wednesday, 28 June, as Dar El-Iftaa, Egypt's highest authority for issuing religious edicts, confirmed the sighting of the moon of the Islamic month of Dhul-Hijja on Sunday.
