According to reports by Israeli media, Abd Elhadi was arrested based on "suspicion of expressions of praise [for terror] and hate speech."

The reports cite alleged images posted by Elhadi depicting a woman taken hostage by Hamas with laughing emojis and a depiction of the Israeli security barrier with Gaza that was accompanied by the caption "Let's go, Berlin style."

Ahram Online could not confirm the images' presence on a number of social media platforms belonging to Abd Elhadi.

This is not the first time for the rising star to come into confrontation with Israeli police.

In 2021, the press reported that Elhadi was injured by Israeli forces while "protesting the forceful expulsion of several Palestinian families from their homes in Sheikh Jarrah." A photo of her in the back of an ambulance went viral on social media.

A graduate of the Wingate Hydrotherapy Institute, Abd Elhadi was born in 1985 in Nazareth, Israel.

A model and an actress, she entered the limelight after winning the Best Actress award at the Dubai Film Festival in 2011 for her role in Habibi Rasak Kharban (2011).

She also appeared in The Eyes of Thieves (2014), 3000 Nights (2015), The Reports on Sarah and Saleem (2018), The Angel (2018), Gaza Mon Amour (2020), Huda's Salon (2021), and in the Hulu series Baghdad Central (2020).
