The events focusing on Palestine's cinema will kick off at 1:15 pm with a welcoming speech by Ineke Palm, a specialist in refugee studies, and continue until late evening.
The programme will feature an interview with filmmaker and singer Leila Albayaty and a discussion with poet and visual artist Maureen Mazal.
Two films will be screened during the day: LYD and The Teacher.
LYD, a 2023 feature, was directed by Rami Younis and Sarah Ema Friedland.
It tells the "story of a city that once connected Palestine to the world — what it once was, what it is now, and what it could have become," reads the film's synopsis.
The Teacher was written and directed by Oscar- and BAFTA-nominated filmmaker Farah Nabulsi.
The film won several awards, including the Audience Award for narrative feature at the 67th San Francisco International Film Festival, and is currently screened in movie theatres across Jordan, Lebanon, and Egypt.
The Teacher follows "a Palestinian schoolteacher who struggles to reconcile his risky commitment to political resistance with the chance of a new relationship with volunteer worker Lisa and his emotional support for one of his students Adam."
The RAFF, one of Europe's oldest and fastest-growing festivals, is dedicated to showcasing films from the MENA region and presents many award-winning titles.
So far, the 2024 edition of the RAFF will feature 14 feature-length films, representing Lebanon, Saudi Arabia, Morocco, Algeria, Jordan, Palestine, Qatar, Egypt, and Tunisia.
