Owda was nominated alongside her outlet, AJ+, which features her show It’s Bisan from Gaza and I’m Still Alive.

The series of videos documents Owda's life in Gaza since the eruption of Israel's war on the strip on 7 October 2023.

A Palestinian journalist and activist, Owda has 4.8 million followers on Instagram and over 190,000 followers on TikTok. She often uses these two platforms to livestream videos about the realities of the Gaza Strip.

In addition, international communities and renowned outlets, including ABC, CBS, and BBC, have picked up 20-year-old Bissan's videos.

The 76th Primetime Emmy Awards winners will be announced on Monday 16 September 2024.

Due to strikes by writers and actors, the 2023 Emmys was held in January 2024.
