The 2016 Hepta: The Last Lecture grossed EGP 20 million, which at the time equalled $1.1 million.
Directed by Hadi Al-Bahgouri, the sequel titled Hepta: The Last Debate is based on the screenplay by Mohamed Jalal and Mohamed Sadek, in collaboration with Norhan Abu Bakr.
The film will star Menna Shalaby, Karim Fahmy, Salma Abu Deif, Asmaa Galal, Karim Kassem, Mayan El-Sayed, and Hassan Malek. According to the production company, the sequel will approach the topic of love from multiple angles.
“The film promises to take the audience to a world full of feelings, emotions, and emotional human bonds,” announced the film’s production company. The film is about a love story of couples who experience the joys and sorrows of everyday life while showing typical relationships between them and how they bond with one another.
“We are passionate about producing true and impactful stories that reflect contemporary Egyptian society. The film Hepta: The Last Debate is more than just a film; it is a journey that explores the very essence of human communication,” the producers explained.
The producers, however, did not announce the date of the film's release.
Directed by Hadi El-Bagoury, the 2016 Hepta: The Last Lecture featured many well-known Egyptian actors, including Maged El-Kedwany, Ahmed Malek, Ahmed Dawood, Dina El-Sherbiny, Yasmine Raeis, Jamila Awad, Amr Youssef, Hany Adel, Ahmed Bedeir, Salwa Mohamed Aly, Kinda Alloush, and singer-actress Anoushka.

The first film Hepta: The Last Lecture (2016) was based on the bestselling 2014 novel Hepta by Mohamed Sadek. The novel was coined Book of the Year by Virgin Mega Store.
