This year’s Panorama will present more than 30 titles across feature narrative and feature documentary sections, in addition to a special Joachim Trier retrospective.

Several screenings will be accompanied by discussions and Q&As with participating filmmakers, offering audiences the chance to engage directly with the creators.

Highlights of the Panorama include films that have won major awards at the Big Three festivals and beyond.

They include Palme d’Or winner It Was Just An Accident, the latest feature by Iranian auteur Jafar Panahi, praised for its humanistic portrayal of crime and moral responsibility; Mr. Nobody Against Putin by David Borenstein and Pavel Talankin, winner of the Special Jury Award at Sundance; Gianfranco Rosi’s Below the Clouds, a portrait of life in the Bay of Naples, which earned the Special Jury Prize at the Venice Film Festival; Jim Jarmusch’s Father, Mother, Sister, Brother, recipient of the Golden Lion at Venice; and Dag Johan Haugerud’s Dreams, awarded the Golden Bear at the Berlinale.

From the closer-to-home repertoire, the Panorama will screen Namir Abdel Mesih’s Franco-Egyptian Life After Siham, a deeply personal exploration of grief and the regenerative power of filmmaking.

Also featured is My Father’s Shadow by Nigerian-British filmmaker Akinola Davies, an evocative coming-of-age journey set in Lagos.

Danish-Norwegian master Joachim Trier’s retrospective will include his latest film, Sentimental Value (2025), winner of the Grand Prix at Cannes, among other works.

Panorama’s programming will also showcase Trier’s famed Oslo Trilogy, comprising Reprise (2006), Oslo, August 31st (2011), and The Worst Person in the World (2021).

The 18th edition of Panorama of the European Film will run from 27 November to 6 December at Zawya Cinema, Nile Cinema, and Zamalek Cinema in Cairo.
