The Arab Film Festival will take place from 27 June to 14 July in three Australian cities, providing a platform for Arab artists to showcase their work.

This year's festival includes filmmakers from Egypt, Lebanon, Iraq, Palestine, Algeria, Morocco, Jordon, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, and Australia.

The festival will open in Sydney from 27 June to 30 June, followed by Canberra 4-7 July and Melbourne 12 -14 July.

The Arab Film Festival was first launched in 2001 and features films from across the Arab world as well as films that address topics related to the region.

Over the course of a decade, the festival has developed a considerable following, and it is supported by many partners.  Each year it presents the work of Arab filmmakers to over 18,000 people.

In the festival's opening night, Egypt director Yousry Nasrallah's film 'After the Battle' will show for the first time in Australia.  Nasrallah's film chronicles the aftermath of the 'Battle of the Camels' from three different perspectives.
