Tuesday, 19 April, El Sakia String Orchestra will revive works by Bach, Corelli and Händel

Baroque

El Sakia String Orchestra program will include works by baroque masters: J. S. Bach: Concerto for 2 Violins BWV 1043, A. Corelli: Concerto Grosso Op.6 No. 8 and G. F. Händel: Heroic Arias for Bass.

On 7 April, the very same Bach concerto for 2 violins was performed by a chamber formation of the Cairo Symphony Orchestra at the Cairo Opera House Small Hall. El Sakia String Orchestra reintroduces the work, reviving this valuable music among the young audience that usually attends the concerts held at El Sawy Culturewheel.

El Sakia String Orchestra was formed at the end of summer 2010 and gave their inaugural concert on 19 October. The string orchestra has since given monthly concert presenting chamber repertoire.

Violin soloists: Anwar Mansy and Ahmed Ramzy
Bass: Mohamed Abdel-Kader
Conductor: Mohamed Saad Basha

Tuesday, 19 April, El Sawy Culturewheel, Wisdom Hall at 8:00pm
