The Bibliotheca Alexandrina has announced that a Marcel Khalife concert scheduled to take place on Saturday has been cancelled in the wake of deadly militant attacks in Sinai on Friday which killed at least 31 soldiers.

A three day period of national mourning was declared by the president after the attacks were announced. 

Lebanese musician Marcel Khalife gave his first concert in Egypt after six years of absence on Friday at Cairo's Al-Azhar Part.

The Bibliotheca's management has said that all tickets for the Alexandria concert will be reimbursed.
